Review a Delivery Pull Request
After a successful scheduled run, the poller opens a delivery pull request. This page explains what the pull request contains and what to check before you merge it.
What it contains
The pull request comes from the branch delivery/auto-<commit-prefix> and has the title
chore: deliver snapshot <snapshot-id>. It contains one commit with two changes:
- the refreshed classpath fixture:
functional-feature-model.json,artemis-config-key-catalog.json, andfixture-provenance.jsoninsrc/main/resources/feature-model/; - the new validation pin in
delivery/artemis-validation-pin.
The authored guided workflow and the manifest never change in a delivery pull request.
Its description lists the Artemis commit, the manifest digest, the snapshot digest, the digest of the published image, and whether the fixture and the pin changed. A section Guided workflow coverage lists selectable features that no published guided option covers yet.
What to check
- The checks pass. The pull request runs the normal checks against the new pin, so the model delivery gates validate the new Artemis commit, and the application tests run with the refreshed fixture.
- The model diff makes sense. Look at the diff of
functional-feature-model.json. Changed names or descriptions come from Artemis and need no action. A new or removed feature always comes with a manifest change that you made before, so it should not surprise you. - The coverage list. A feature in the list exists in the model, but teachers cannot choose it in the guided workflow yet. This does not block the merge. Plan the text with Update the Guided Workflow.
Merge it
Merge the pull request into develop. From then on, pull request checks use the new pin, and local development uses the
new model.
When several delivery pull requests are open, merge the newest one and close the older ones. Each one replaces the same files, so the newest contains everything.
When the run failed instead
A failed run opens no pull request and publishes nothing. Follow Fix a Failed Run.
